These Bumps My Tongue

Ski Tour "Om umi" Reit im Winkl Chiemgau

On 03 March 2011 was in the Munich newspaper TZ a great report on a classic ski tours in Reit im Winkl in here, "Om umi" this is among the locals. "Over the top" would translate them free.

This tour can proceed with cross-country skiing or ski touring and is approximately 5 hours walking easy, but the scenery and panoramas her unique in our region. Florian Weindl and a reporter of TC have made the trip and this trip are gone.

Lost is what the Hindenburg hut, taking over the house for Straubinger Fellhorn up to 1764 Mtr About Durchkaseralm, parking slab and Stallenalm to Winklmoosalm. From there you can then by train or ski down to Seegatterl and the ski bus back to Reit im Winkl. You should go the route only in good weather, because you can easily run in fog. The avalanche risk is zero except for cornices on the summit ridge of the Fellhorn, there should be something to watch.

I myself am the tour a few times went in the winter and I recommend cross country skiing, since one at the other touring several times the skins have to change. The tour is also often speak of the last salute to the snow and is often gone in the spring as a season end. But even in the summer, the tour is possible, and we still have to bring a little more time and early morning should start shortly after sunrise.
