Museum Maxhütte in Bergen

The Maxhütte stood in Bergen from 1562 to 1932 the focus of the industry in the Chiemgau. Founded in the iron foundry in 1562 by Bergen Pangraz of Feyberg and counted the mid-19th Century the most important iron producers in Bavaria.

The Maxhütte as it is called short, became a foundry and machine builders. The closure in 1932 was preceded by the Great Depression. Then in 2002 opened the "Museum Maxhütte with about 750 square meters of exhibition space. The entire history of the work is published there in a clear manner. It shows how iron was mined and processed, and shows how the inhabitants have lived and worked.

A special exhibition on the theme "40 years Hochfelln cable car" and 125-year high fur Cross is built on the premises of Maxhütte.
