Filmy And Smelly Urine

Oudtshoorn 01/08/2010 - 08/01/2010 unplanned addition to the family

Good strengthened after the ostrich scrambled it should continue on our way to Prince Albert, a small town in the Great Karoo. To get from Oudtshoorn there it goes over the 1536 meter high Swartberg Pass, the 72-kilometer-long winding road through an impressive mountain landscape is not paved, so gravel track and that too steeply up the hill. Not exactly ideal terrain for our little wagon. On the way still are the world famous Caves Caro, better delivery caves impressive proportions. A beautiful and anstrenegndes day program also. The suitcases were packed into the car and I have our little wagon already awarded courage "together we've been doing this, I on the gas and you with your little mini-engine at full speed. Since we Dario radioed into the program. The previous day he had told us about his project, in which he supports kids in the neighborhood in that he finds sponsors for the school fees. Just to have somewhere makes money, in South Africa does not make sense. All too quickly it's gone for alcohol and other things and there is no school money for the children. Also Dario respects that there are children who do well in school and determined. We were immediately hooked on this idea. But there are school holidays at the moment and within a few hours in South Africa can not move anything unless you say Dario and is obsessed with an idea. His choice was Chantelle, the second youngest daughter of his farm boys. She is 10 years old and was on several occasions the class. The larger 12-year-old sister already goes to a school. We should get to know the family and of course, Chantelle, to decide whether we want to assist with school fees. The family lives in a small brick house with two bedrooms and a living room to door, which leads to the ostrich nest. It was no problem on the way to our next station stop going there. It expected us three golden children, and the decision was to support Chantelle no longer a question. Now of course we wanted to get to know a little bit. We decided with all three a little trip to make. A challenging task, given the fact that said big sister only speaks a little English and we, of course, no Afrikaans. So hastily transferred the case back in the pickup of Dario and the three minors in the car and off to Oudtshoorn. But we knew Oudtshoorn were too little and the children's shyness and wanted their wishes not comment. By chance, we ran in Oudtshoorn, but relatives of the children on the way, who spoke good English. The were shocked once to take the children with two strangers in the SADT. But the situation was cleared up quickly and thanks to the translator, we identified a small zoo for children, which they wanted to go to you. Once there, we were of course the attraction and had to explain how we come to the three sweet little black children. The kids had fun feeding of rabbits, donkeys and ostriches. The camels were they scary, but not the big burger and ice cream afterwards. It is just wonderful in those happy Children's eyes to look. So, while we were suddenly back in the role of parents of young children, Dario has prepared the next "stop". He has the principal of the school from his vacation and pulled together then we went to school. There we have the tuition paid directly to the Rector at school and could still orphaned school visited. Chantelle now for a few stones are cleared away. You would like to become a lawyer. To achieve this they have to go a completely different way than all the other girls her age, often with 14 mother and then the school abbrechen.Weil no more money is there, no time and / or no Motivation.Wir Chantelle want a little help, but the drive must get ahead of herself. Dario will remain in contact with the school and we get the school report about him. South Africa now has a face and a name for us. This changes many things. In addition, we already support the nursing mother and the soup kitchen in Kirkwood, a project of Lemon3Lodge.

the late afternoon, then stood still in the arduous journey over the pass to Prince Albert. All alone, we have the long winding road up and down again worked until the evening we exhausted but happy, arrived in Prince Albert.
Thank you to this point again to Dario and Carmen for Your support. We came as strangers and left as friends meet here again! I have had the greatest respect for the immigrants in South Africa, are at home and everything and start anew in a foreign country - and do not lose all the stress, support for the needy of this country from the eye.
